Throughout Q2 2022, the performance of the top 5 navigation and maps applications in the United Arab Emirates exhibited notable trends in downloads and active users, according to Sensor Tower data.

Google Maps Go maintained a consistent presence with weekly downloads fluctuating between 11K and 17K. The app saw a peak in downloads during the week of April 25 with approximately 17.5K downloads. Weekly active users remained robust, ranging from 1.17M to 1.26M, demonstrating its strong user base in the region.

2GIS: Offline map & navigation experienced steady weekly downloads, ranging from 7.7K to 10.3K. The app's active users showed a positive trend, growing from around 59K at the start of the quarter to approximately 62K by the end of June.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic had a varied performance in downloads, with numbers ranging from 5.7K to 9K. The app's active user count remained relatively stable, fluctuating around the 320K mark throughout the quarter.

Google Earth saw an increase in weekly downloads, peaking at 8.2K in mid-May. Active users also showed an upward trajectory, starting at about 21K and reaching close to 30K by mid-June.

Radar GO-X: HUD, GPS, Maps had a declining trend in weekly downloads, dropping from around 7.1K at the beginning of April to just over 1K by the end of June. Active users also decreased, starting at 5.2K and falling to approximately 1.8K by the end of the quarter. The app managed to generate minimal weekly revenue, peaking at $10 in late April.
